A Priority Group Household is one that has:

  • a valid SA Government concession card OR
  • a residential tenancy agreement with the landlord and the rent being $400 or less per week OR
  • a SA Gov Electricity Bill Concession OR
  • a referral from a SA registered Financial Counselor OR
  • participates in a Retailer Hardship Program

Have you recently bought or are planning to buy a new energy-efficient fridge, freezer or heat-pump dryer for use at a South Australian address? Both online and in-store purchases from any retailer may be eligible for our rebate.

Once your Total Estimated Rebate is calculated, you can proceed to submit your application in STEP 3 below.

If your appliance is not listed – fill in the form below. You will receive a response with the eligibility of the product and the available rebate – if eligibility criteria are met. YESS will not advise of product rebates over the phone/verbally – this will ONLY be done via
email/written. If the product does not meet eligibility, you will be advised via email.

Step 3: Fill in the appliance purchase application online

Once you have confirmed your appliance is eligible for a rebate via the above form in step 1, you have purchased the appliance and have received delivery of it, you will need to fill the Appliance Purchase Rebate Application form with all details that are required.

Step 4: Application Check and Quality Assurance Call with YESS

Once your application has been checked by the YESS Quality & Assurance team, you will be called to go over your application and advised of the remaining application process post-call. Once the call is complete, you will be emailed your REPS Activity Form (Appliance Rebate Form) to sign and send back.

Application Check Process

After you send back the signed Activity Record, YESS put all the documents, photos and phone calls into a pack for our client. Payment is made once your application form and supporting evidence are checked over by our client, who is an obliged retailer under REPS. They typically hold the work for 2-3 weeks before providing us with the all-clear to submit the work to the REPS Database. On the submission of the work, your rebate is paid into your nominated bank account, and you will receive an email with remittance advice.

Rebate Information Statement

The REPS is a South Australian Government energy productivity scheme that provides incentives for South Australian households and businesses to save energy.

The objective of the REPS is to ‘improve energy productivity for households, businesses and the broader energy system, with a focus on low-income households. This will reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.’ The REPS
achieves its objectives through the setting of energy productivity targets (EPTs) to be met by electricity and gas retailers.

Obliged retailers may offer energy productivity activities that are delivered to households and businesses by the obliged retailers and their third-party providers.
Your Energy Saving Solutions Pty Ltd (YESS) is a third-party provider engaged with various obliged retailers to conduct activities that will count towards the retailers’ EPTs.

The following REPS activities can be counted toward an obliged retailer’s EPTs.

APP1A – PURCHASE A HIGH-EFFICIENCY NEW REFRIGERATOR OR REFRIGERATOR-FREEZER

APP1B – PURCHASE A HIGH-EFFICIENCY NEW FREEZER

APP1D – PURCHASE A HIGH-EFFICIENCY NEW CLOTHES DRYER

The higher the efficiency of the new appliance purchased, the greater the rebate available under the above activities.

Each activity may be claimed once per address on eligible appliances.

Eligible appliances have a valid registration with the GEMS regulator at the time of sale and meet the requirements prescribed in the REPS activity specifications.

The activities are not intended to be offered as part of any sales offer, as eligibility cannot be guaranteed at the time of purchase.

Eligibility of the address and the purchased appliance must be verified by YESS, and successful lodgement of the activity towards the obliged retailer’s REPS target must be processed before any rebate will be paid to the customer.

YESS have no obligation to provide a rebate on the appliance if the REPS claim cannot be successfully lodged.


Product Eligibility Requirements:

All products must have a valid listing on the GEMS register: https://reg.energyrating.gov.au/comparator/product_types/
The “Group Type” – i.e Group 5T – can be found on the GEMs register listing.

Fridge Freezers (APP1A)

If Group 1 – size range 100 to 500 litres and have a minimum star rating of 3.5 stars

If Group 4, 5T, 5B or 5S – size range 100 to 700 litres and have a minimum star rating of 3.5 stars

It can not be a wine storage appliance or have any compartment that is intended exclusively for wine or beverage storage.

It can not have a “door-in-door” design – e.g A door-in-door is a hidden compartment behind an exterior panel—typically on a French-door refrigerator

Freezers (APP1B)

If Group 6C – size range 100 to 700 litres and have a minimum star rating of 3.5 stars

If Group 6U or 7 – size range 100 to 400 litres and have a minimum star rating of 3.1 stars

It can not be a wine storage appliance or have any compartment that is intended exclusively for wine or beverage storage.

It can not have a “door-in-door” design – e.g A door-in-door is a hidden compartment behind an exterior panel—typically on a French-door refrigerator

Heat Pump Dryers (APP1D)

The Dryer must have a minimum star rating of 5.5 stars and have a minimum capacity of 3kg.

If it is a combination washer-dryer the minimum star rating on the dryer component must be 5.5 stars.

If it is a combination washer-dryer – the WELS or water efficiency star rating is not taken into consideration for eligibility. I.e a combo washer-dryer may be advertised as having a 4-star energy efficiency rating – but the dryer rating would only be 2 stars.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

REPS targets are set annually, and REPS activities cannot be carried over from one year to the next (e.g., if a REPS activity is completed in 2023, it cannot be submitted toward 2024 REPS targets). This means that once annual REPS targets are achieved, YESS will not be able to offer any REPS activities until the next calendar year commences and targets reset.

REPS activities are lodged with the date that the activity is complete, not the date the activity commences. For example, a commercial lighting upgrade of a large warehouse facility may commence in December of 2023, but if the installation takes several weeks and is not complete until January of 2024, then it is considered a 2024 REPS activity.

An appliance purchase is complete when all terms of the sale have been satisfied and the consumer has received their goods.

If you have purchased an appliance in-store and collected the appliance on the same day, then the day you paid for the appliance is also the completion date of the activity, as this is the date you received the goods. If you have purchased an appliance online or purchased in-store and scheduled a delivery, then the date you receive the goods is the date your purchase is complete. REPS activities are lodged with the date that the activity is complete.

REPS activities are lodged at the address where the activity took place. The activity is complete once the consumer has received their goods. Each REPS activity can only be provided once per address, and each appliance is only eligible for one REPS rebate. If you move house, you cannot lodge two REPS claims on the one appliance using both addresses.

Example 1:

You purchased an appliance when you were living in Prospect. The appliance was delivered to the property in Prospect. You later moved to Seacliff before finding out about the REPS rebates. Your REPS application must be lodged at the old Prospect address, even if it has been several months since you have lived there, because that is the address where the activity took place. 

Example 2:

You purchased an appliance when you were living in Prospect; however, the appliance is for a house that is being built in Seacliff. There is a significant delay between your paying for the appliance and the appliance being delivered to the Seacliff property. Though you paid for the appliance while living in Prospect, the purchase is not complete until your goods are received. Once the appliance has been delivered to the Seacliff address, you must lodge the REPS application under the Seacliff address.

REPS residential targets are split into Priority Group and Non-Priority Group targets. Typically, the Non-Priority Group target is achieved earlier in the year than the Priority Group target, so YESS may need to close applications for Non-Priority Group customers earlier in the year. 

Each REPS activity can be provided once per address. If you are unsure whether you or a previous tenant may have lodged a REPS claim at your address, the YESS team can search the REPS database for you. The REPS system uses the Australia Post Address Database to determine valid addresses – if your address is not valid on the Australia Post Address Database, you are still eligible to access REPS activities; however, we will need to collect additional address evidence from you to support your REPS claim.


General Terms and Conditions

  • The appliance purchase must be completed in the current calendar year.
  • The rebate application must be lodged using the date that the purchase was completed.
  • The appliance must have been purchased for use at a South Australian address.
  • The rebate application must be lodged using the address that the appliance was delivered to and is in use at.
  • Each REPS activity can only be provided once per address, and each appliance is only eligible for one REPS rebate.
  • For online purchases or in-store purchases with scheduled delivery rather than the collection at the point of sale, the retailer/provider must be able to demonstrate that the appliance has been delivered to a South Australian premises.
  • The appliance must be purchased new and not second-hand.
  • The appliance must meet the REPS eligibility criteria for energy efficiency.
  • Rebates will only be paid out while REPS targets last.
  • Your submission or intention to submit a rebate claim does not guarantee the rebate will be paid, and YESS is not obligated to process your submission if it is submitted once the target has been met. YESS will be as transparent as possible and provide notification on nearing target exhaustion via this website and via mailing list updates.
  • Sufficient supporting evidence must be provided to validate the application, including but not limited to: proof of purchase, proof of delivery date, a photo of the appliance in use at the address, address evidence, and Priority Group evidence.
  • You will be required to provide a digital signature with your rebate application and another digital signature on the REPS Activity Record once the application has been reviewed by the YESS team. You will also be required to complete a phone audit with a member of the YESS team, who will verify the details of your appliance purchase. Please contact YESS if you have access needs that this process does not accommodate for.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The rebate amount estimated above is indicative only and may be subject to change upon YESS reviewing the information provided.
  2. Rebate values are based on Priority Group status. If it is proven that the information you have provided regarding your Priority Group status is false or misleading, YESS may need to reduce the rebate amount, or the rebate application may be rejected.
  3. Your submission or intention to submit a rebate claim does not guarantee the rebate will be paid. Rebate applications will be approved at YESS’ discretion. YESS will be as transparent as possible and provide notification on nearing target exhaustion via
    www.yess.net.au/appliances and via mailing list updates.
  4. If insufficient or unclear evidence is provided, you will be contacted by YESS to explain the issue, and your application will be suspended and/or rejected until your application is rectified to the required standard. YESS have no responsibility to honour a rebate application if the rectification is not received by the customer prior to the due date provided by YESS.
  5. The customer is solely responsible for the full cost of the appliance they have purchased, and YESS have no obligation to provide a rebate on an appliance if the REPS claim cannot be successfully lodged.
  6. You will be required to provide a digital signature with your rebate application and another digital signature on the REPS Activity Record once the application has been reviewed by the YESS team. You will also be required to complete a phone audit with a member of the YESS team, who will verify the details of your appliance purchase. Please contact YESS on 1300 894 745 if you have access needs which this process does not accommodate for.
  7. The email containing the REPS Activity Record also contains the link to provide your BSB and account number for YESS to deposit the funds. YESS are not able to deposit funds by PayID or any other method, and failure to provide your BSB and account number via the link may cause your rebate application to be delayed or rejected. This email will come from an Adobe email address and you may need to check your junk folder.
  8. Upon successful lodgment of this REPS activity in the REPS-R portal, funds will be deposited in your nominated bank account within 5-30 business days, depending on your bank.
