Home Energy & Thermal Assessment
Private residential service
Want to understand where your energy is going, improve the comfort of your home or work out which upgrades are worth considering?
Our Home Energy & Thermal Assessment provides a comprehensive review of your home, energy use and household needs.
Private assessments start from $490 for a standard three-bedroom home located within 30km of Unley, SA. Larger or more complex properties and locations outside this area may incur additional costs or travel fees.
What’s included?
Personalised consultation
Our assessor spends approximately 1.5 to 2 hours onsite with you, discussing how your household uses energy, your concerns, comfort needs, priorities and budget.

Energy bill and consumption review
We review your electricity and/or gas usage to help identify where energy is being used and opportunities to reduce costs.
Tailored recommendations and report
Following the assessment, you’ll receive a personalised report outlining practical recommendations for your home.
Rebates and upgrade guidance
Where applicable, we’ll help you understand relevant rebates, incentives and upgrade options that may be available through YESS or other providers.
Follow-up support
You’ll have an opportunity to discuss the findings and recommendations with our team.

YESS also works with organisations delivering energy affordability, energy efficiency and household support initiatives.
If you are an energy retailer, community service provider, government organisation or other organisation developing an energy-related project, talk to us about how we may be able to support your program.
Our team has extensive practical experience delivering residential energy assessments and working directly with households, including customers experiencing energy affordability challenges.
We can discuss project requirements such as:

Energy Retailer Support Programs
If you’re experiencing financial hardship or having difficulty managing your energy bills, contact your energy retailer first.
Many retailers have dedicated hardship or customer support programs and may be able to arrange an energy assessment at no cost to eligible customers.
YESS currently delivers funded energy assessments through several retailer programs:
AGL, Victoria: Staying Connected
Alinta Energy: Better Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP)
Lumo Energy and Red Energy: Energy Care
These programs and eligibility requirements are managed by the relevant retailer. Contact your retailer to find out whether you’re eligible and whether a YESS assessment can be arranged through their program.
